Album: Sweet Bird
Lou's bird, one we've had for over 5 years, got caught by Kazi in the garage... Kazi hid in the garage until Lou put bird in for the evening, and killed him thru the cage.
Lou is devastated. We gave him a burial in the yard. Lou suggested burying him close to or under the palm tree by the Air conditioner chiller. I decided against that because there will likely come a day when I have to dig out the tree, and that would disturb the burial spot. So I chose an area inside the gravel border underneath the guest room window, against the house wall. We won't likely have any digging to do there....
I dug out my engraver, chose a piece of stepping stone from the yard, and made him a little makeshift headstone. Yeah... a lot of 'ceremony' for just a little bird that we didn't even buy or anything. But he was such a part of Lou's daily ritual to feed and care for him for the last 5+ years, and she's very bothered by his being killed by Kazi. She couldn't sleep well last night, and it will take a while to shake thoughts about bird in the daily routine. So I think it was important for her to bury bird caringly.
